September 24, 2024 Hello everyone! We have been so busy in the art studio the past couple of weeks! We are working hard to build our sketchbooks that we will be using in each class as a place where we will begin ENVISIONING different potential ideas which we will bring to life through the materials in our studio! Right now we are still in the beginning stages of our EXPLORATION, as we are doing a whole lot of learning about how artists act in the WORLD, but it all starts with how we treat each other in the studio day to day.  We are also continuing to create connections between literature and our art! Our kinders and Y5's have read such books as: Lines that Wiggle, by Candace Whitman https://youtu.be/3UDqx4OQoMk?si=U0IuNoNnowO7IB9s Shapes that Roll, by Karen Nagle https://youtu.be/aZ-oGyi6MWI?si=ZcM0Hivo-BCus86p The Leaf Thief, by Alice Hemming and illustrated by Nicola Slater https://youtu.be/zLCfh4l477k?si=HSXadiX6oiDhEL70 We are beginning to lean into the STUDIO HABITS of MIND

My name is Emily Bawol. I am a mother, artist, art educator, and art therapist. I have two daughters, also in AAPS with me (Pioneer and STEAM).
